Overview
A comprehensive event ticketing platform built for Kenyan event organizers. The system handles the full event lifecycle — from ticket creation and sales through to QR-code-based gate check-in and post-event financial reconciliation.
The challenge
Event organizers in Kenya struggled with manual cash collection, ticket fraud, and no visibility into real-time sales. Existing global solutions like Eventbrite lacked M-Pesa integration and priced in USD, making them unsuitable for the local market.
The solution
We built a white-label ticketing platform with M-Pesa STK Push and Pesapal as primary payment methods, uniquely signed QR codes to prevent forgery, a Flutter mobile check-in app that works offline, and a web-based organizer dashboard with live sales analytics.
Results
- 50+ events processed across Nairobi and Mombasa
- Zero ticket fraud incidents due to cryptographically signed QR codes
- 98% payment success rate via M-Pesa STK Push
- Check-in processing time reduced from 3 minutes to under 10 seconds per attendee
- Organizers received automatic reconciliation reports within 1 hour of event close
